The Farewell

Hello

  Today is the last blog, I want to confess it was nice to share my experiences, preferences and emotions with you.

  This year has been a great year in terms of personal growth, if I look to Cata from March is something different to current me, since the beginning of the mobilizations until now I have been in a continuous learning process about myself, currently, I´m authentically happy with the things and the family that I have, besides that I have learned to control my anxiety and be more aware of the moment. With respect to the academic aspect, it has never been a great concern for me because for me it is important to be learning continuously and I consider that the stress doesn´t come to anything positive and I just want to be surrounded of positive energy to achieve everything thtat I want, in company of my family and friends. I have to trust more in myself and be more focused in the important and simple things. Some positive concrete things that happen to me are that I went to a concert of Halsey and Lauren Jauregui with a friend, I visited the Bahai temple with the same friend and I bought a very beautiful camera. Some negative things at this moment I don´t remember, I think this is because I´m very forgetful and I try to keep the good experiences or take the bad as something I can learn from. I hope the next semester comes even better, that I can learn different things, that I can enjoy every moment with the people I love and that I get to laugh more every day.

A Subject that I enjoy study in this Fall Semester 2018

Hello everyone!

  Now that I´m in the final stage of the Fall semester 2018 I want to talk about my favorite subject, I should confess that I feel that everything the subject-matter that the teachers teach us are useful, but I don´t like studying everything because there are some lessons very little entertaining and some papers are too long and boring to read. Now, let´s move onto positive, the subject I´ve really enjoyed studying is “Political Phenomenas” dictated by Claudia Heiss, she´s a great person and excellent professor. I like a lot his lessons because she´s cleverly fun and she´s knows a lot about different topics, handles the authors very well and she worries about applying the theoretical in practice and in contemporary situations, whether in Chile or the world, which allows us to understand more easily what has been taught. Besides that, I enjoy studying this subject because it is intrinsically related to political science (a discipline that attracts a lot my attention), namely, it is about studying power, which encompasses a lot of different phenomena, in this semester we have been studying the concepts like politic, policy, state, executive, legislative and judicial power, among others. I chose this subject because it´s part of the curriculum and I chose the lessons because I became interesed in the teacher who dictates the class, for last if I can change something about the subject, it could be that to teach us more things like comparative politics.

Animals

Hey

  I want to tell you about my opinion in regard to the animals. I like the animals when they are in their natural environment, especially I like wild animals and your way of development inside of their space. I don´t like too much the domestic animals, in fact, I feel a bit of sadness to see animals in a small space and enclosed inside of the houses. I enjoy see to the animals and have contact with them.

  My favorite animal is a horse, I love them.  I found so cool riding a horse and take careful of them, since I was born had contact with horses, once I fall of one them but it I don´t cause me fear because I consider that I had the fault. When I riding a horse with my brother, father or uncle I feel  very connected with myself and with them, still I follow to learn various techniques about how ride to horse and saddle more efficient. I admire the intelligence of the horses, they learn very fast.

Sports

Hello Everyone!

  In this opportunity I will talk about sports. The favorite sports are soccer, I like a lot playing football and watching matches of the national teams of the different countries, especially of Chile.

  Last semester I went to basketball classes, but I found it boring, the only part I liked was running and trying to score. This semester I attended soccer and volleyball classes, although I'm not very good at playing soccer, I enjoy doing it a lot, I like to run but I do not have very good technique, in regard to volleyball I found it fun, but I like the workouts more than playing matches.

  A sport that catches my attention is swimming, I do not practice it officially, but I like to swim, so in the summers I try to swim as much as I can. And a sport that I would want to try is athletics, I do not have much resistance, but I think it can be improved, I like the feeling of freedom that is felt when running and how connected you are with yourself at that moment. I also want to play tennis, I like to watch tennis matches and I would like to be in a tennis court, listen to the song of Lorde called "Tennis Court" and hit the ball with the racket.

  Finally, I must confess, that when I was about 15 years old I wanted to be a cyclist, I bought my helmet and gloves, besides having a very good bike and I started to train alone until I participated in a competition in Curicó, I was doing well until once I turned around too fast and I fell, and a guy made fun of me, I kept cycling despite that with a lot of pain and I arrived in the last place, it was a sad thing and it discouraged me a lot, and I did not keep practicing.

  That has been my experience in sports, I enjoy practicing them because I like to move, and I consider it to be very good for physical and mental health.

About Movies

Hello

  Today, I want to talk about movies, I like almost all genres of films, except horror, music and science fiction. I really like comedy, drama, action, western, motivational and romantic movies.

  My favorite movie is Stuck in Love, it's a 2012 American comedy drama starring Logan Lerman, Lilly Collins, Liana Liberato, Nat Wolff and Kristen Bell. All of them are excellent actors. This film contains literature, addictions, reunions, fears and above all love, what I love.

  Almost every weekend I try to watch a movie with my family in Netflix or Cuevana 2, we take turns choosing the movie: my dad prefers the western movies, my mom the dramas, my brother the action, my sister does not care because she does not like movies very much, and I often choose motivational and romantic ones.

  Finally, I want to recommend two films that mark me as a person, this is Into the Wild where it is concluded through the story that true happiness is shared and The Perks of Being to Wallflower starred again by Logan Lerman and where he shows what to do Connections with other people can make you feel good and grow as a person.

Website that I Really Enjoy Visiting

Hello!!!

In this fifth post I want to talk about one of the websites that I really enjoy visiting, it´s Germ Magazine. It is not intrinsically related to the career of public administration, but this website motivates me a lot to be a good professional and study to achieve everything I want to achieve. Also, in times of university stress, it helps me to relax and focus on what really matters.

I really like the website because it is very complete, its creation was inspired by the best book that I have read in my life, called “Violet and Finch” by Jennifer Niven. This author created this website especially for girls in high school and beyond, like she said this virtual magazine “celebrates beginnings, futures, and all the amazing and agonizing moments in-between, from facts to fiction, beauty to boys, movies to music, how to´s to where to´s”. The virtual magazine talk about a wide variety of topics like love, life, health, home, the world, school, career, the future, all things safety, and also lighter issues and the harder ones. This website has many posts from different perspectives about these topics and the incredible of it is that we, I mean you, me or anyone, can contribute content and be published. Besides that, you can also propose a topic or ask questions about anything that you want.

This website has allowed me to get to know amazing poems, works of fiction and nonfiction, watch incredible photographs, know about beautiful places that I didn´t even know existed and read different points of view about what the concepts as friendship, relationships, love, hate, loneliness and happiness. I often visit this virtual magazine to get inspired and create new ideas, to get tips about anything and finally to understand that the world is incredible and it´s good to consciously breathe and really enjoy the moment.

I hope that you visit the website, either you're a man or woman, and you find the section that you most make sense of in this moment of your life.

Favourites Photographs

Hello everyone!

   A long time without writing my posts, but anyway here I am to share random things. Here we go again!

  This time I want to talk about some of my favorites pictures, one of them is a very beautiful landscape where you can see a mountain with a little bit of snow, a river with clean water and a blue sky with a few stars. 

  My second favorite picture is also a landscape at night, in this picture we see a person who is with their hands raised looking the infinite stars in the sky, that person is surrounded by a lake and hills. 

   At last, my third preferred photography is a capture of a gate in where we read “La Libertad”, I think that the phrase refers to the liberty of being in contact with nature, I believe that this photo was taken in the countryside, so I imagine that in this place happy there are people and different animals like horses and cows. 

   All the photographs that I mentioned are landscapes and they are special for me because I admire a lot the power of capturing the wonderful and magnificent wilderness. The photographs were taken for Thomas Jeremias, who is an argentinean photographer that is principally dedicated to capture the nature and the architecture.

  Besides that, like he said, “I always am trying to promote the feeling of respect towards nature, without forgetting about human relationships”. That is something that I like so much because he shows his sensibility in every capture.

Favourite Piece of Technologhy

 The technology seems like a good tool for the development of the society and a way of better and faster communicating with to everyone in the world.

 
Today, I´m talking about my favourite piece of technology and it´s the laptop. I got my first laptop when I was 9 years old and it´s was a gift from my grandfather, its brand was HP and it had many games, in that time I didn´t have internet so I played those games all the time.

 
These days, I have a new laptop that I bought with my money and help of my mother, I use this device often to watch series or movies on Netflix, studying, doing works, connecting in social networks, among others. One good thing of having a laptop is that I can move from side to side and the screen is big and clear. I like this device of technology because it has a lot of applications and it allows me to see many things at the same time. My wish regarding laptops is buying an Apple Macbook because I like its style.

I must say what I like using the laptop but I am not a fanatic of this, I am capable of living perfectly without a laptop or something technological, in fact, I don´t like being too much in contact with technology, I prefer simple things and the direct contact with the people.

Election of my Profession

Hi, again.

In this opportunity, I will talk about the election of my career. Like you should remember from my first post, currently, I´m studying Public Administration at the University of Chile, but this decision was not easy, I thought for a lot of time about the profession that I would probably develop throughout my life.

When I went to the secondary school, I began to think seriously in which career to choose. I was between journalism and engineering, and probably your reaction in this moment is WOW, it´s completely different. I know that, but it was what I felt in that moment. This duality is because I love so much the power the media mass in the society and I really appreciate the serious work of journalists, I like the words and it's a great dream work with them all the time. On the other hand was the engineering, and probably this option was for the traditional customs and because I´m good with the math, and it sounded very well to be a manager of a company. In the end those careers did not convince me at all, because I wanted something interdisciplinary, in where I probably can be able to generate changes and I learned a lot from many topics, without leaving aside the mathematics.

After, I began to think in Political Sciences and Public Administration (PA) and I researched these professions and their profiles, I finally concluded that the first career was too theoretical and I convinced myself that PA was the correct career because it´s more practical and the work field is broad and I will be able to generate changes and work with the people and for them. Besides, with this careerI could  learn about different disciplines and be in contact with the society.

That was the story of my decision to study Public Administration and until now I feel well with my decision, I have been learning and I like studying politics, the way to manage and how to investigate in a serious way. I really hope to be a good professional and I would love to work abroad; representing my country and creating public policies or doing research and writing important papers for the development of ideas that help to generate changes.

Presentation of Myself

Hi everyone, welcome to my blog!

My name is Catalina Salazar Rojas and I´m so happy for being able to share my life with you.

I was born on May 17th, 1999 in the main clinic of Curicó, 7th region, Chile and my family and their friends were very excited for my birth, like consequence of this fact my parents received a lot of people in the house to meet me.

My education started very early because my parents worked all the time and they had no time to take care of me all the time, so I went to the daycare center and the kindergarden called "Rabito" and then I was in Primary School "Grecia" and my secondary education I went to "Liceo Zapallar"; the best education institution in my city and I believe so hard that is the best in the world, everything I learned and happened to me in this Instituion made me grow like a person. Currently, I´m a student of Public Administration in the Universidad of Chile and I´m so comfortable with my decision of studying this career and in this institution.

My family is great and funny, my mom is such an intelligent and nice person, my dad is the best and loves me so much, my sister is 28 years old, she is very good person with everyone and always is worried of me, my brother is 25 years old and is a fool and all the time he makes me laugh, finally is my grandmother, who is a beautiful person.

Among my favorites hobbies, I can mention watching series on Netflix, riding a horse in my countryside, laughing and sharing with my friends, driving a car, playing football, going to the mountain and seeing the rain fall in the city.

I hope that you will know me a little more while we develop this blog, and I should confess that I like a lot to be with my family and learn of each one of them, besides that I confess that I´m a person interested in many topics connected with international politics.
